National Superhero Day + Cesarean Awareness Month — Indianapolis, Indiana Birth Photographer

April is Cesarean Awareness Month, and the 28th happens to be National Superhero Day, so I found it fitting to share with you the faces and birth photos of these people I call superheroes! Check them out below and leave a sweet comment.

These WOMEN are warriors.

One mother worked for hours and hours before being met with the only option but to have a C-Section due to a rare complication having occurred in labor. Who sobbed in defeat, while simultaneously attempting to accept that vaginal delivery just wouldn’t be possible. Who felt most of her C-section incisions as they cut her open. Another planned a vaginal delivery with her premie babe, but because they were breech, opted for a C. Who spent 3 hours away from her new babe in the NICU during post-op and recovery. Who had yet to hold or even touch her small babe until she was cleared to visit.

Among many differing circumstances, each sacrificed and birthed their babies, beautifully. I admire them so much! And despite undergoing major surgery, each of them strove to be as connected to their baby in every possible way. That is Superhero Status in my book!
