Postpartum Photography: First 48 at IU Hospital North in Carmel, Indiana by Lynsey Mason

I first met Nadia and her family a few years ago when their middle baby was still growing inside. They had hired me for her birth, and it was such an honor to witness. Nadia was ferocious in her birthing her second daughter, standing up beside the hospital bed with her husband right there comforting her through it all. They were so in sync. I know the birth of Neva was just as beautiful. I was able to join them on the last day of their hospital stay for a quick Postpartum session to capture all of the details of their new family, now with 3 girls. It was nothing short of sweet.

Postpartum Photography: First 48 at St. Vincent Women's Hospital in Indianapolis by Lynsey Mason

Alex and David have had quite the journey. Faced with the loss of two babies, I know they felt these moments may never come to them. I happily photographed the birth of their son, Walt this Spring. I was thrilled when I arrived to the hospital and it was decided that I would be allowed in the OR to document her C-section. The next day, I arrived for their First 48 session. Baby Walt was so sweet and swaddled. He loved being shushed and rocked to sleep. He also loved hearing the voices of his sweet parents. If you want to read more about their story, click here.

Postpartum Photography: A Holiday In-home Documentary Newborn Session in Indianapolis, Indiana by Lynsey Mason

Erika and I met last year when we both had the opportunity to come out and visit the new Birth Center in Indianapolis at a networking event. She was pregnant at the time, and planned to birth there! I thought that was so amazing. She wanted to preserve the time with her new baby and family in their home, so she booked me for a Postpartum session later in the year. She was due mid-December, but their baby boy decided he would arrive two weeks later, on the dot! I spent New Year’s Day in their home documenting all of their postpartum goodness, from nursing, big sister cuddles, diaper changing, and more!
