Brittany and Brandon are quite possibly the strongest couple of human beings I have ever met. After suffering loss more than once during their journey, they grow noticeably happier each day that they move closer to meeting their rainbow baby. (Only 8 more days!) For their maternity session, we met at her family's farm on an old county road one early Saturday morning. It was foggy, and our surroundings lit up with magic as the sun rose.
Not to mention, Brittany was stunning in her pink dress. It was amazing to see how the sunrise reflected onto her dress, making it appear to be all different shades of pink each time we moved to a different location on the farm.
When Brittany told me the idea she had for her baby girl's maternity session, I admit at first I was a bit nervous. I had never photographed smoke, let alone used it as a back-drop.
It turned out, there was no reason to be nervous. The smoke blended together and made the perfect rainbow to honor their storms previously weathered, and their beautiful future that has yet to arrive.
As the sun began to fully come up from the horizon, we found shade and hung ultrasound images of their daughter from a tree. It was a beautiful and teary moment to watch them reflect on this journey that they've been on together.
I can't wait to photograph their baby's birth story in just one short week. Documenting life's most cherished moments for families so wonderful like Brittany and Brandon's is what makes me love my what I do so, so much.
