This holiday season I received the joy of getting to photograph new life on Christmas Eve. The birthing journey for Amanda, Brooks, and their baby, Madison Grace, began early yesterday morning on December 23rd. After they were all checked in at the hospital and active labor was near, I began making my way to their labor and delivery hospital room. The parents-to-be were watching a movie and enjoying one another's company as they awaited the arrival of their little girl. Nighttime soon fell and the clock ticked. As we all know, babies work on their own clock. Midnight came, and Madison was still cozy and content right where she was. We listened to her heartbeat for hours. The doctor visited from time to time, as the nurses buzzed in and out, checking labor's progress. Finally, you could tell that this precious baby's birth was nearing as the nurses began setting up her warmer and huddled around, as the doctor readied his tools and gown. On the dot at 3:00AM, in the wee hours of Christmas Eve, Madison was delivered. Her parents were ecstatic to enjoy golden hour with their newborn baby girl, as I captured skin-to-skin and her first latch.

It was a joy to spend the holiday with this lovely newfound family!
